2009 Monteith's NZ Pub Quiz Championship

The 42 teams who took part in the 2009 Monteith's New Zealand Pub Quiz Championship on October 18 at the Horse & Trap in Auckland, were treated to an interesting three hours of rollicking fun and brain-busting seriousness. The sponsored product, Monteith's Crushed Apple Cider was a great choice, and was most appreciated by all of the 252 participants (and quiz staff I might add). A fantastic prize table for all teams who placed in the top ten, all of whom received a case of Monteith's Crushed Apple Cider to take home, along with various other goodies, to a value of around $5000.

The winning team was Eddie M'Bubu from Wellington, who outclassed the field to win by 5 points, the biggest winning margin in the ten years of the competition, and their third title.
